KEY DEER PAINTING FOR LIVING WITH KOALA CHARITY PROJECT

The Key Deer painting is a canvas to represent Florida in support of the Living With Koalas. 50 artists all women from the 50 states of the USA were invited to provide artwork of one of the most endangered or threatened fauna species in their state.
Georgeta was invited to support the cause, and she chose to paint the Key Deer, inspired by Valerie Preziosi’s photograph ‘Tender Moment’.
The endangered Key Deer is the smallest subspecies of the North American white-tailed deer. Poaching and habitat loss had reduced the number of Key deer to only a few dozen animals by the 1950s, but the establishment of the Refuge and subsequent listing of the deer as endangered in 1967 has allowed for protection and dramatic recovery of the species. Georgeta Fondos is an accomplished muralist, textile artist, and illustrator. Her work is featured in public buildings, parks, museums, and private collections all around the world, in countries such as Greece, Mexico, Moldova, Lithuania, Switzerland, and the United States.
Georgeta has been providing interior and exterior mural painting and design services for residential, commercial, and public spaces since 2004.
